Mechanical composition

Mechanical Composition is a sculptural installation made of three separate units, each producing a different note through a motor driven mechanism. The work emphasizes repetition, friction, and movement rather than musical expression. Once activated, the sculpture produces sound through continuous mechanical action. The notes do not evolve or respond emotionally; they repeat indifferently, operating between instrument and machine. Sound becomes a byproduct of function rather than expression. By relying on minimal human input to trigger an automated process, Mechanical Composition highlights mechanized labor and repetition, pointing to systems where efficiency replaces emotion, individuality, and feeling.
